A Shadow Party-Within-A-Party?

It seems that the Labour Party has a number of new problems. Having got rid of several of the entryist factions committed to the ‘downfall of capitalism’, a new one has arisen in Newham.

Here they are, complete with new branding ‘Newham Socialist Labour’ and with their own budget and agenda.

Carel Buxten is the Chair of the suspended West Ham CLP, she was helpful enough to add the following in her comments on the resignation of Mehmood Mirza.

“The Labour Party do not deserve you Mehmood. You have been one of the best campaigners that West Ham CLP ever had and you join around 150,000 others who have left, been suspended or even 'terminated' - their words not mine. I think West Ham has been especially toxic but we haven't just given up and gone away. We are Newham Socialist Labour and we continue to campaign and fight back against Tory cuts even when delivered by a Labour Council.”

And later, rather more telling:

“Hi Delia. We have set up a shadow CLP Newham Socialist Labour. Still fighting the Tories including those in the LP.”

There it is confirmed in black and white, there is another party operating inside the Labour Party. It looks like the Labour Party’s Compliance Unit still has some work to do before it is safe to let the Newham CLPs go their own way again.
