Asser’s Campaign Moves Up a Gear

It appears that candidate James Asser now has his election campaign up and running. He has his own on-line presence together with a number of endorsements.

Ex-MP, Lyn Brown is supporting his campaign.

Sitting MP for East Ham and candidate Stephen Timms is doing likewise.

He has even got the Labour candidate for the council seat he vacated on the council to support him.

But hard as we might try, we looked in vain for any endorsement from the current mayor of Newham.

We don’t know if this is because Asser felt that she would lose him more votes than she would bring or whether Fiaz had simply stormed off.

Either way, it’s a bit telling that the mayor is not seen supporting her former deputy in his campaign.
