Newham IT Boss Accused of £250,000 Fraud

Just when you thought that things couldn’t get any worse, they suddenly do.

The Standard reported that IT Boss Jagdeep Nagra, an “Assistant Director of Operations and Interactions” is alleged to have pocketed some £250,000 worth of phones, laptops and tablets bought with council, this is to say , council-tax payer’ money.

Nagra, was appointed under Mayor Fiaz and in less than two years was able to pocket a cool quarter of a million, allegedly.

It seems that he was also able to supplement his meagre wages as an IT assistant director in Newham with four months of full-time work as Head of Technology at Lloyds Pharmaceuticals; that correct this is whilst he was still on the Newham payroll.

Whoever said that crime doesn’t pay, clearly got it wrong.

He now appears to work for Great Ormond Street Hospital, where he is Head of Cyber Security, (perhaps someone should let them know).

He appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday 23rd October where he was remanded on bail. The case was listed for trial in early 2025.
