Welcome Aboard Bro.

It seems that the bid to become the Borough of Culture has been strengthened with a new appointment to the bid team. The new appointee comes with a wealth of journalistic experience which seems to focus, almost exclusively on LBGTQAA+ issues.

He, apologies, they (singular) are reported as being “a multimedia journalist and digital communications expert with 20 years in the broadcast news and charity sectors. They are the co-founder of Imaan, the leading LGBTQ+ Muslim support organisation.”

This might give some hints as to the direction the bid will take.

Frankly, we’re unclear about the content of the bid, but then we are unclear as to the benefits it will bring to the borough anyway. It has always seemed a bit of an expensive vanity project, so we are unsure of the value for money that the new appointment will bring.

Still, we would like to welcome Faizan Fiaz to the team as a project manager and wish him (them?) well. We’re sure that it will be fun working with and for his (their?) sister.
