More about those Temporary Housing Numbers

That’s right. Fifty in every thousand households are in temporary accommodation. This is double the figure for the next highest borough.

In the last reshuffle, Cllr Shaban Mohammed was charged with sorting out the temporary housing problem. Instead, the problem seems to have got worse.

Still, he remains loyal to Fiaz, so we don’t expect any change there. The importance of a loyal companion is of more importance than competence to the beleaguered mayor. It kind of explains why Newham is getting a reputation amongst councils outside London; and it is not a reputation that you want.

We invite Cllr Mohammed to let us know of his plans to change the situation. Here is our promise. He can provide an article and we will post it unedited.

We await his contribution.
