Will we see Solidarity with Sderot?

How far do the mayor’s feelings of solidarity extend?

Mayor Fiaz and Deputy Mayor, James Asser did eventually share their solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

She was quoted on the Newham website.

We are unlikely to see an influx of Jewish refugees from Israel. But Israel has seen the similar “unspeakable acts of aggression and violence” that Ukraine saw. The scale of course is different, but then so is the size of Israel. Both Israel and Ukraine have suffered an incursion by a neighbour; both have suffered indiscriminate bombardment of civilian areas; both have had civilians and children kidnapped; both have had civilians pulled from their homes and murdered in the streets; both were attacked by a neighbour which wishes to eliminate their existence.

Will we see the expression of support for Israelis?

Somehow, we doubt it. There is nothing to suggest that Fiaz harbours any antipathy towards Jews, but she relies upon those who appear to. She was quite able to express her solidarity with the people of Gaza. What about the people of Sderot or Be’eri?
