A couple of problems in the mayor’s office?

Jenny Fisher is the mayor’s Head of Office. It appears she has been on stress-related leave for some time now. What is it about working with Mayor Fiaz that causes such stress?

Former Islington councillor Paul Smith stood down from his role at Islington in to seek “a new challenge”. This might sound like a euphemism to hide the real reason, but that’s politics for you. Rumour mongers have questioned whether he jumped or was pushed. 

Anyway, Smith joined the Fiaz team as Chief of Staff in January 2021. Noted as one “who won’t use a dozen words, when one will do” he must have had some difficult conversations with the mayor who is renowned for never using 10 words when she can use 100. After less than 18 months in post, Smith has decided to seek more new challenges elsewhere.
