Sad News with the death of former Councillor Paul Sathianesan

Readers may have heard the sad news that former councillor, Paul Sathianesan recently died following a short illness.

Paul represented the people of Wall End/East Ham North from 1998 to 2018. Prior to his election he was very involved in work with refugees and asylum seekers. After leaving the council he threw his efforts into support of the Paramitha Community Development Foundation, where he was a director.

A Christian, he was known within the Tamil and Sri Lankan community as one who promoted reconciliation between various religious and ethnic groups. 

His legacy will be in the lives of the people he touched.
