A Deliberate Attempt to Besmirch My Name and Reputation.

We earlier reflected on the way in which allegations against Cllr Darren Rodwell, had suddenly appeared. And then, just as suddenly, disappeared. (Here and here.)

The Labour Party have now concluded the matter and Cllr Rodwell has confirmed this.

This is the statement from Cllr Darren Rodwell.

This was something we expected of the Corbyn era Labour Party. It was not what we expected under Starmer.

It is not clear whether the name of his “malicious” accuser has been made known to Rodwell, nor even why the allegations, given that they were so “serious” have been dismissed. The Labour Party has treated one of its most honorable servants in a most dishonorable way.

Rodwell is in something of a bind. If he seeks legal redress, he will scupper any chances of a further career in the Labour Party. If he does nothing, he may scupper any chances of a further career in the Labour Party.

For now he is content to continue the work he is doing as the head of the Labour administration in Barking and Dagenham. A decent man and we wish him well.

We at least would like to know more about who was his accuser and who was behind her baseless allegations. Was she acting alone or in concert with someone else?
