An Opportunity for Greatness
The former Chair of this august body is now, not only a councillor, but has been elevated to the role of Deputy Cabinet Member and Bag-Carrier-In-Chief for She who must be obeyed; he has his sights set upon even higher office as we have seen elsewhere.
On 21st June the posts were advertised. Applications have to be in by 26th June, leaving effectively four full days in which to put an application together.
You’d almost think that they didn’t want a wide range of applicants and that they had someone in mind, someone with a history in the Labour Party, who wouldn’t rock the Mayor’s boat and could be relied upon not to cause a stir. But that is merely conjecture on our part and probably betrays an overabundance of cynicism on our part.
So, if this is a role that appeals, remember, they have promised to look into how the money is spent on the Mayor’s flagship community engagement programme in the light of some dodgy payments. But remember, you have a very short time to get your CV in.
It is probably best that you don’t broadcast it if you are a member of the Greens, or indeed any other party.
