Another £7m Written Off

There are holes in Newham’s draconian parking regime. It seems that law abiding drivers, who pay their fines get stung. Those who evade the penalties, get away with it.

The BBC reported that cabinet on Tuesday 4th April agreed to write off another £7m as uncollectible.

Newham has the unenviable reputation as the most aggressive borough for traffic fines, though looking at the table below, this appears to be a record of all traffic PCNs, not just parking. Yet they are failing to collect the money.

But its ok. They can always increase council tax again.
