Ego at the heart of everything we do

One of the first things that the Mayor had to do when assuming office, was to sort out her own private office. Her predecessor had operated from a modest office on the Fourth Floor; big enough for a desk and a meeting table with half a dozen chairs. About 3m x 4m in size, we understand.

The Chief Exec meanwhile had a somewhat larger office, about two and a half times larger by all accounts. It made sense the Chief Exec had the operational management to take care of and larger numbers attending. When He-Who-Can-Not-Be-Named had larger meetings, he booked a meeting room, like everybody else.

He had clearly got it wrong.

No sooner was Mayor Fiaz in post than she started to eye the Chief Exec’s office with greedy eyes. That was it for the Chief Exec who was relegated to the modest office whilst Fiaz assumed a space commensurate with her immense stature.
