Remote Representation?

There was some surprise when Cllr Pushpa was reported to have migrated from Newham to Havering, less than one month after being elected to represent the residents of Plashet ward in East Ham. 

It seems that Cllr Makwana is not satisfied with Havering. We learn that she feels that she can represent her constituents in Plashet ward just as well from Dubai as from Havering.

In the event that anyone is aware of job openings in Dubai, please send them to Cllr Makwana at pushpa.makwana@newham.gov.uk.

Would the Labour Party force another byelection in the event that Cllr Makwana managed to secure a job in Dubai? Probably not. Having another byelection in a ward where the other councillor represents Newham Independents might prove to be embarrassing.
